A group of male university students has picked actor Jeong Il-woo as a star whose skin would make babies envious.
In a survey sponsored by Philips Electronics, they picked Jeong as “a male celebrity who could give female stars a run for their money with his smooth face”.
The star has been asked to attend an award ceremony at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo District, southwestern Seoul, on Sunday.
There, he will be presented with a Philips Aquatouch electric shaver and take part in a meet and greet where he will sign autographs for fans and give out presents to mark Coming of Age Day on May 21.
Jeong has starred in super-popular TV programs such as the period drama “The Sun and the Moon”(2012) and the sitcom “High Kick!e” (2007).
And on Thursday, Jeong was introduced by LG as the new face of the brand’s Optimus LTE2 smartphone. The company said it took into account Jeong’s versatile acting skills when selecting him.
Actor Jung Il Woo is set to appear on a popular Chinese variety talk show, “Tian Tian Xiang Shang” or “Day Day Up” on the Hunan Satellite TV channel.
Jung Il Woo has left to China to record this episode on May 8. “Day Day Up” has featured worldwide stars and famous people such as Takuya Kimura, Bill Gates, David Beckhan, Ayumi Hamasaki and more. It has also drawn great attention, especially the younger groups for its humor and style. For two years straight, “Day Day Up” has held the number one spot for viewership ratings.
Jung Il Woo will appear on “Day Day Up” due to his increasing popularity in China. His dramas, “Flower Boy Ramen Shop” and “The Moon that Embraces the Sun,” have also found great success in China. Jung Il Woo will be revealing many behind the scenes stories from both dramas. Actor Jung Il Woo transformed into a club DJ in a TV commercial for a snack brand ‘Doritos’.
Jung Il Woo is actually the first endorsement model chosen by Doritos for their Korean advertisement campaign. The Doritos brand in South Korea is a joint effort between Lotte Confectionery and PepsiCo, Inc.
Jung Il Woo transformed into a club DJ and tried DJing for the first time in his life. Learning the basics during the break time, Jung Il Woo showed off his powerful, masculine charms as the shooting started.
A representative stated, “Jung Il Woo has been involved in a variety of different activities and gathered a diverse fanbase. As Doritos is a global brand enjoyed by families everywhere, we felt that Jung Il Woo was the best model to represent us.”
Actor Jung Il-woo will make an appearance at a fan meeting for the drama “49 Days” set to take place on Feb. 3 in Tokyo. Jung starred in the drama last year and will attend the event alongside co-stars from the show Jo Hyun-jae and Nam Gyu-ri.
“Despite the fact that he is busy filming ‘The Moon Embracing the Sun,’ Jung has set time aside in order to take part in the fan meeting. He will return one day after due to his hectic filming schedule,” said a representative from the star’s agency.
At the fan meeting, Jung and his fellow co-stars from the hit SBS drama from last year will sing songs from the soundtrack as well as host quiz and talking segments.
Jung is currently starring in the hit MBC drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun” alongside actors Kim Soo-hyun and Han Ga-in.
The show exceeded 30 percent in viewer ratings on its fifth episode, making it the most watched drama since “Queen Seonduk” in 2009.
Last year, Jung also starred in the drama “Flower Boy Ramen Shop” on tvN and gained popularity for playing the role of a stuck-up yet lovable playboy.
